BY ROAD
The drive to Ardmaddy is spectacular, through a variety of different landscapes in some of the most beautiful and wild parts of Scotland.
We are just 12 miles south of Oban on the West coast of Scotland.
We are 2.5 hours drive from Glasgow. For a direct route take the M8 north to exit 30, take the M898 towards Erskine bridge, then take the A82 to Crianlarich, at Tyndrum take the A85 to Oban. In Oban take the A816 south for 7 miles, turn off right onto the B844 for 3.9 miles, turn left onto a single track road signposted Ardmaddy for 2 miles.
From Edinburgh take the M8, M9 to Stirling, turn off onto the A84 through Callender and A85 at Lochearnhead to Crianlarich. Turn right on the A82 to Tyndrum. At Tyndrum take the A85 to Oban. In Oban take the A816 south for 7 miles, turn off right onto the B844 for 3.9 miles, trun left onto a single track road signposted Ardmaddy for 2 miles.
BY RAIL
Our nearest railway station is Oban, which is under 30 minutes by car.
The Caledonian Sleeper can be joined at Upper Tyndrum from/to London.
BY AIR
Helicopters can land in the grounds by prior arrangement.
BY PLANE
2.5 hours from Glasgow airport, 3 hours from Edinburgh airport
North Connel /Oban airport is just north of Oban , Loganair operates flights to Islay, Colonsay and Tiree. Please refer to their website for landing private planes/ landing fees.
BY SEA
There is a stone jetty and floating ponton for small boats and tenders. Please contact the estate to make prior arrangements to tie up.
